Embry-Riddle Aircraft Fleet Destroyed
Monday, 25 December 2006

Two tornadoes raged a path of destruction through the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Christmas Day.  With winds over 120 mph the university fleet stood little chance of survival.  At last report over 60 aircraft were damaged or destroyed.  Additionally, the maintenance hanger was destroyed and several buildings on campus were damaged.  Classes have been delayed until January 16.

 
TSB Final Report – Cessna 208 Accident

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) today released its final investigation report (A05C0187) into the fatal accident that occurred in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on October 6, 2005 involving a Cessna 208 series aircraft. The Board looked at a number of factors and found that, although the aircraft took off clean, the performance diminished as ice built up on its critical surfaces.

Embraer Legacy Pilots Return Home

Two U.S. pilots charged by Brazilian authorities for the collision between their Embraer Legacy 600 business jet and a Gol Airlines Boeing 737 in late September are now back home and deny any wrong doing.

3000th Cirrus Aircraft Delivered

Cirrus Design Corporation announced today at the AOPA Expo, that it has produced its 3,000th airplane since the first delivery in 1999. CIRRUS has done what no other aviation company has done since WWII by producing 3000 airplanes within the first seven years of its original delivery. Many credit CIRRUS with rejuvenating the personal aviation industry with product developments that combine enhanced performance, difference and innovation.
