Due to four brake fires and two aircraft losing directional control (Cirrus SR20 and SR22), Cirrus Aircraft issued Service Bulletins in December and January to address this issue. Owners were required to upgrade the brakes and modify fairings.

Leading Edge Exhaust Systems

Increasing aircraft performance can be as easy as changing your exhaust system.  Performance gains are significant.  On a PA-12 customers have reported performance gains as follows:  @2400 RPM fuel consumption was 9.2GPH and with the LEES exhaust system it dropped to 8.3GPH and @2300 RPM it was only 7.8GPH. You have to keep in mind that this  is with an O360-180HP engine. We saw a static RPM increase of 75RPM and a 250'/per minute  increase in his rate of climb. With the stock exhaust we could never reach redline with the throttle full bore and  with  LEES' exhaust we are now getting 2800 RPM.

Diamond D-JET Continues Flight Testing

After the successful first flight of its sensational new D-JET on April 18th, Diamond continued with an aggressive flight test program with additional flights on April 19th, 20th and 21st to further expand the speed envelope and continue evaluation of handling characteristics.

D-JET First Flight

After a series of high speed taxi and rotation tests, Diamond's D-JET S/N 001, lifted off at 17:08 on Tuesday April 18th, 2006. The test was conducted from the London International Airport, home of Diamond's North American operation.

Lycoming Updates Service Bulletin

Apparently another 404 crankshafts are being added to a previously issued service bulletin ordering the replacement of the crankshafts by the next crankshaft access or scheduled overhaul, whichever comes first, but no later than Feb. 21, 2009.

A Quantas Boeing 747 jumbo jet was required to make to make an emergency descent on Friday while enroute from London to Melbourne.  While cruising a 29,000 feet an explosive bang rocked the jumbo jet. Oxygen masks fell from the ceiling while the jet descended rapidly to a safe altitude.
