Air Traffic Control – Staffing Crisis?

Citing last Wednesday’s near miss in Chicago the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) president Patrick Forrey drafted and sent a letter to Transportation Secretary Mary Peters.  In his letter he outlines the impending crisis associated with the large number of retirements and the FAA’s inability to fill the positions with qualified controllers.

Close Calls - Lucky Numbers

As an instrument rated pilot, our pilot always flew cross country IFR and this day was no exception. About three years ago, our pilot and his wife were returning in their Cessna 182 to their home base in the San Diego area from visiting their grandchildren in central California. Everything was routine until they landed at the airport.

ATG Javelin Jet Program Shutdown

With what seemed like a good idea ATG has decided to shutdown its very light jet program.  The Javelin jet which would double as a business jet and a military trainer generated interest at first but after 12 months a lack of funding has grounded the program.

Type Inspection Authorization Adam Aircraft A700

The Adam Aircraft A700 program has accomplished a major milestone by receiving its first Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). With this significant endorsement, the Adam Aircraft Flight Test Program is entering into a new phase where FAA representatives are authorized to begin flight testing on the A700 for FAA certification credit.
