Cirrus Design Corporation announced today at the AOPA Expo, that it has produced its 3,000th airplane since the first delivery in 1999. CIRRUS has done what no other aviation company has done since WWII by producing 3000 airplanes within the first seven years of its original delivery. Many credit CIRRUS with rejuvenating the personal aviation industry with product developments that combine enhanced performance, difference and innovation.
CIRRUS Co-Founders Dale and Alan Klapmeier said, “We are exceptionally proud of this 3,000th milestone and the incredible men and women of the CIRRUS team who got us here. This is a reflection of our shared commitment to making personal aviation more accessible through technological and innovative breakthroughs, unique ownership programs and on-going training support.” “In the seventeen months since the 2000th CIRRUS airplane was delivered, sales operations have launched in China, Chile and Thailand,” said John M. Bingham, Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “Our rapid growth in domestic and international sales is a result of progressive new ideas and the consistent delivery of an airplane that is safer, and easier to fly.” According to David Coleal, President and COO, “Re-assembly of aircraft has begun in Europe and Australia, and certification has been achieved in Europe and China. With a persistent focus on innovation, we look forward to bringing the next 3000 most technologically advanced airplanes in this class, to market.”CIRRUS remains the first and only airplane manufacturer to install the CAPS™(Cirrus Airframe Parachute System), standard in all of its airplanes. This system has been credited with saving 21 lives in 9 separate parachute pulls. |
