Diamond Aircraft today announced that they produced and delivered 33% more aircraft in 2006 than in 2005.
"Diamond has sustained this level of growth over the last 5 years," reported Christian Dries, CEO of Diamond Aircraft. "The production ramp-up of new models like our DA42 Twin Star and DA40 XL, in combination with continued popularity of our existing models continues to fuel this growth. Diamond delivered 438 aircraft in 2006. Of the total delivered 256 aircraft were produced in London, Ontario. The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) recorded a 11.6% increase for piston engine aircraft sales in 2006. For a company that started producing aircraft a little over ten years ago in an old air force hangar in London, Ontario, Canada, this company has become one of North Americas leading aircraft manufacturers. With the D-Jet program well underway this manufacturer has all the bases covered for anyone looking for a state of the art single, twin or jet aircraft. |
