Three aircraft types – one already certified and two to go.  That’s what’s happening at Jackson, Michigan’s Prestige Aircraft.  Prestige started by importing the Rally light sport aircraft but realized it would be easier and more cost efficient just to build them in Michigan.  The tree aircraft types are the Rally LSA, Century LSA and the SeaStorm LSA.  The Rally LSA aircraft has passed SLSA certification and gained its airworthiness certificate from the FAA.  Certification for the Century LSA is just weeks away from LAMA and FAA certification.

STORM RALLY SLSA – The Rally boosts the largest overall cabin available, and it’s large well designed and placed windows provide over 300 degrees of visibility for the pilot and passenger. The aircrafts unique gull type door design allows for easy aircraft entry and exit by pilots, and passengers over 6 feet 2 inches tall. These doors can be opened in flight at speeds of 60 knots or less for photo or video taking.  The Storm can be used for VFR night flight, and or IFR flight operations, provided the aircraft is equipped with the FAA minimum required   equipment for those flight operations and the pilot holds the required airman certificate and ratings for operating aircraft VFR at night, or under IFR conditions.

STORM CENTURY LSA – Certification is just weeks away for this low wing tricycle (or conventional landing gear version) light sport aircraft.  The aircrafts large fuel tanks, and advanced low flight drag design gives the aircraft exceptional cruising distance, and lower hourly operational cost. The STORM CENTURY LSA can also be used for VFR night flight, and or IFR flight operations provided applicable regulations and licences are valid and adhered to.

SEASTORM – Prestige is attempting to manufacture a 900 pound aircraft when fuelled with a range of 800 miles cruising at just under 120mph with the standard 100HP Rotax power plant.  The SeaStorm will carry two people and luggage.  An optional turbo charged engine will get you in and out of tight spots.  Because of weight restrictions for Light Sport Aircraft Prestige is currently working to refine the SeaStorm two place aircraft to a point where there is a large enough useful load available to allow the aircraft to carry two normal individuals, fuel, baggage and have decent avionics aboard. For this reason, US production of the SeaStorm LSA will be delayed into the future to allow for the refinements to be made.
