PENSACOLA, Florida - While performing the final manoeuvre of an air show the Navy’s Blue Angel aerobatic team suffered the loss of a pilot and an F-18 jet. During the final manoeuvre the teams six aircraft join up behind the crowd for a final fly by but unfortunately, one of the teams jet failed to join up with the group and moments later, the jet crashed just outside Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, hitting homes in a neighborhood. Homes were damaged and eight people on the ground were injured – the pilot of the jet was killed. The Navy investigation can take up to three weeks before the final cause is determined.
