As simple as it may sound – the fact that Capt. Shawn McCaughey seat belt came undone while the team was practicing for an air show at Malmstrom Air Force Base near Great Falls, Montana is the most likely cause of the May 18th fatal crash.

The preliminary report says Canadian Snowbird pilot Capt. Shawn McCaughey was flying upside down during a pre-show practice session when his seatbelt came unfastened causing him to fall from his seat and lose control of his Tutor jet.
