Diamond DA42, turbo-diesel twin receives FAA Known Ice Certification.
Diamond Aircraft announced today that the DA42, its turbo-diesel powered light twin, has received FAA Known Ice Certification. The FAA certification expands the coverage of the original EASA Known Ice Certification to N-registered aircraft, and enables US pilots to get even more utility out of their DA42 aircraft. |

A Quantas Boeing 747 jumbo jet was required to make to make an emergency descent on Friday while enroute from London to Melbourne. While cruising a 29,000 feet an explosive bang rocked the jumbo jet. Oxygen masks fell from the ceiling while the jet descended rapidly to a safe altitude. |
