Cessna SkyCatcher Prototype Crashes PDF Print E-mail

Cessna’s new Cessna 162 SkyCatcher light sport aircraft prototype crashed 30 miles southeast of the Cessna Aircraft Company factory in Wichita, Kansas.

The crash occurred near a wooded area.  Fortunately, the test pilot landed safely by parachute.  A KAKE television news team initially reported the accident.

Witnesses told the news team that they heard a pop and saw sparks before the airplane crashed.  Cessna has nearly 1,000 orders for this new light sport aircraft.
