Steve Fossett’s Airplane Found PDF Print E-mail

 After 13 months and a massive search Madera County, California, Sheriff John Anderson announced that the Bellanca Super Decathlon in which adventurist Steve Fossett went missing in has been found near Mammoth Lakes, California. He also said there were no remains found at the crash site.

Earlier in the week hikers discovered several pieces of identification belonging to Fossett.  A search latter discovered the wreckage of the Bellanca Fossett was flying 13 months earlier.

The NTSB is investigating and has confirmed the wreckage (FAA Fatal Accident Report) .  Fossett was declared legally dead by a Cook County (Illinois) judge in February 2008.
