Eclipse Aviation received its type inspection authorization (TIA) after demonstrating to the FAA that adequate development testing analyses has been achieved to allow formal entry into FAA certification testing.

The TIA authorizes personnel to begin performing on-board aircraft testing ultimately leading to type certification. Presently, Eclipse Aviation has manufactured five flight test aircraft and six pre-production aircraft.

Certification has been delayed to Q2 2006 due to delays in supplier deliveries.  First customer delivery will occur shortly after certification.
