Korea Aerospace Industries is in the initial stages of certifying its 315hp KC-100 single engine airplane. Deliveries to North America are anticipated in 2013. The four-seat aircraft has an all-composite fuselage, an all-glass cockpit, autopilot and a mid-air collision avoidance system.
Once certification is achieved, the company will seek US Federal Aviation Administration certification followed by European Safety Aviation Safety approval. The KC-100 is 28 feet long with a 34 feet wingspan. The KC-100 is powered by a Teledyne Continental TSIOF-550 engine. The 315hp engine gives the KC-100 a maximum speed of 240kt, a maximum range of 2,445km and a maximum take-off weight of 2600 pounds. |
